In Rajasthan do as the Rajasthanis

Hi, My Name is Paramananda Ponnaiyan. If you google my name there should only be one of me. You should find my linkedin profile and maybe a patent filing.

I have been using computers from the time they just began to become popular. My first computer was a ZX spectrum and I learnt BASIC and wrote my first game. A leapfrog variant.

And so it wasn’t much of a surprise (in hindsight) that my first job would be in computer engineering even though my BTECH degree was in Electrical and Electronics Engg from NIT Calicut.

Since then I have worked on Proprietary Software and Hardware (Cisco), having to learn hand optimized dual pipeline assembly or writing copious C code. Moved on from there to web-application software with Zynga where I tried to get HipHop (PHP to C++ translator) to work on Zynga’s php code with middling success. Spent some time later in a small startup (Wobe) where I grew the India team and finally landed up in the Decacorn hyper growth startup – Gojek.

Having seen software development in all stages of a startup, Seed, stage A-B-C, IPO, well-established business, I have been witness to a variety of ways to develop, maintain and deploy software (and engineers) and I hope some of that shows in these posts.

I can’t say I will be very regular posting here, but I will definitely try to be. I am a lot more regular on twitter/param108 although its mostly a different type of gyaan.
